FAQs

Is it a painful procedure?
It’s an absolutely pain free procedure. Although some patients might express mild discomfort, but otherwise there is no pain associated with the procedure. Pain killers are usually provided for apprehensive patients.

How long will the whitening last?
Effect of the whitening completely depends on patients’ maintenance of oral hygiene and habits.
Pola office whitening will last for 1 year or so whereas zoom whitening will last for more than 2 years based on hygiene maintenance.

Is there any diet restriction after the completion of the procedure?
As the first 48 hrs post whitening are crucial, the following dietary instructions must be followed to get the maximum effect of your whitening procedure. Avoid consuming dark or yellow staining substances such as coffee ,tea, mustard, ketchup, red wine, aerated drinks, berries, red sauces, soy sauce, tobacco products, turmeric containing products(dal etc) and also milk (As fluorides interferes with the whitening process)

Is sensitivity common after the procedure?
Patients may or may not experience sensitivity after whitening. As the whitening process continues inside the teeth for 24hrs till the material is spent some experience a on-off zinger ( sporadic bolts of sensitivity) in the tooth. We apply an ACP gel after the completion of the procedure which not only decreases the sensitivity but also strengthens the tooth. For home care, specific toothpaste and mouthwashes are prescribed.
